OLYMPIC RUGBY HEROES LAUNCH WIN THE DAY BUDGIE SMUGGLERS BEFORE HEADING TO TOKYO

Olympians Henry Hutchison and Sharni Williams might be all packed and ready for their Olympic campaign in Tokyo, but they have an important job to do before they fly out.

Henry and Sharni have thrown their support behind Canberra cancer charity Win the Day and are set to launch the Win the Day Budgie Smugglers at Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick on Tuesday, 15th June.

Kristy Giteau, founder of Win the Day said “We’re thrilled to have Henry and Sharni on board and the Budgie Smugglers team have been fantastic too. In September, Cancer kids and their families are superheroes and our theme is that people can show their support by being superheroes for the day and wearing their undies on the outside! Today, is about our Olympic sevens players having something comfortable for them to take with them to Tokyo to help them win the day. These budgie smugglers are more than swimmers. They are a sign of inner strength, adversity and triumph- all applicable to Olympic athletes!”

Win the Day’s mission is to support families dealing with rare childhood cancers and was founded following the personal experience of Kristy’s daughter Kaíli, diagnosed in 2019.

The Win the Day Gala event in Canberra on 15 October will raise much-needed funds for families and will be supported by Win the Day ambassadors Josh Papa’lii, Ellie Cole, Matt Giteau, and Buddy and Jesinta Franklin.
